Rockingham Co Recreation Center

Rockingham, Virginia

Public + Institutional

The Rockingham Recreation Center is an indoor recreation facility located at the newly established Rockingham Park at the Crossroads. The facility has been designed to include a collegiate-level indoor track, multi-purpose courts, multi-purpose classrooms, a uniquely designed sensory room, and offices for Rockingham County Parks & Recreation staff. The highly anticipated venue will serve a large demographic - local, regional, and beyond - intentionally designed to permit a variety of multi-generational and inclusive experiences through the variety of programming opportunities to the end-user. The multi-purpose nature of this design designates this fieldhouse as a true destination that will inevitably enhance the local economy of Rockingham County, VA. Specifically, the proposed indoor track will be the first of its kind in the Shenandoah Valley, creating a means to increase physical wellness and mental health of all Rockingham area residents. Monteverde Engineering & Design Studio provided all civil engineering, structural engineering, and landscape architecture services for this project.
